OEA General Counsel
The Oregon Education Association is looking for a General Counsel to join our team! The General Counsel manages the member legal services and corporate legal affairs programs for the Association and advises Association leaders, members, and staff on collective bargaining and individual employment issues; as well as provides advice and counsel on internal staff and labor relations. In conjunction with the Director of Public Affairs & Professional Excellence (PAPE), the General Counsel also assists with the Public Affairs department on legislative and ballot measure issues as needed.
Public Affairs Consultant
The Oregon Education Association is seeking a dynamic and experienced Public Affairs Consultant to join our government relations teams! The person in this position will lobby OEA"s legislative priorities, participate in policy development, and communication to members, leaders and staff. The Consultant will also support the coordination of activities around political campaign strategy and execution, both internally and externally. Member engagement is central to this position to ensure that OEA members are informed and participating in OEA’s political agenda. Collaborative strategic planning with the Public Affairs team will be routine. This position will be based at our headquarters office in Portland, Oregon; however it is expected the person in this position will travel regularly to Salem and the state capital.
