Share Your Story & Impact Legislation
During the 2017 legislative session, your OEA lobby team hand-delivered a new Story of the Day to every legislator's office in the State Capitol. Stories came in from all corners of the state and all kinds of educators, sharing the some of the toughest experiences that our members face in their line of duty. Those words were not ignored. The impact made we made shows just how much power there is in our collective voice. And we're not done!
We want to hear from you about your experience with disrupted learning environments. How have behavioral challenges and dealing with unmet student needs changed the work you do? What solutions would you suggest to help ensure that all students are able to learn in a safe space? Every day during February and early March, we plan to hand-deliver a story from one of our members to Oregon legislators. Your stories are a crucial part of the work that the OEA will do to help reach solutions that benefit students and educators alike. We can't do this without your help!
OEA is hosting town hall forums across the state to increase awareness of this issue and work toward building safe, inclusive, and welcoming classrooms for all students. Click here to find out how you can join the conversation.
