Jump Start Renewal Seminar

The OEA National Board Renewal Jump Start is an opportunity to get support as you start the renewal process. Designed and led by NBCTs, this one-day seminar is a way for you to learn about the renewal requirements and plan out your year.

Renewal is a personal and public statement about your commitment to the profession and to your students. Renewal is a process by which you compile and submit a Profile of Professional Growth (PPG), demonstrating how your practices continue to align with the standards in your certificate area. In contrast to initial certification, the PPG is a single submission composed of three interrelated components and a reflection.

NBCTs who no longer actively teach students but serve in other roles in education are still eligible to renew. Many NBCTs in this position have successfully renewed by borrowing a classroom for the one portion that requires evidence with students, and using teachers as learners for the remaining portions.

Before your event, you will receive an important email from OEA regarding instructions for downloading information vital for a successful Jump Start and experience. When you receive it, please read the email, follow the instructions, and note that there will be no access to printer or copier at our Jump Start location.

National Board Renewal Jump Start registration fee of $75 includes breakfast, lunch, training fees, clock hours, and materials. Up to 6 Clock Hours are available for Renewal Jump Start. All participants are responsible for their own travel and lodging.
