Intel’s Summer 2010 Teach Essentials Course
Northwest Regional ESD is looking for 20 teachers to participate in this summer’s Intel’s Teach Essentials Course focused on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). The session will be held Aug. 2-6, 2010 at NWRESD. Participants living farther than 50 miles from the ESD will be reimbursed for mileage and receive hotel accommodations. All participants will receive excellent training and software provided by Vernier.

Safety Scholars Video Contest
The Bridgestone Americas Safety Scholars Video Contest is now open to young drivers, ages 16-21. Make a short video (25-55 seconds in length) about auto safety.Videos that most creatively and effectively address safety auto topics will win $5,000 college scholarship and a set of Bridgestone tires. Educational trip to Beijing, China
SNA Educational Program is offering an Educational trip to Beijing, China in the fall of 2010 to see the Forbidden City, Summer Palace, and the Great Wall of China in Beijing. NEA Academy On Demand: Universal Design for Learning (UDL) National Symposium

The National Gallery of Writing
What: The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) has partnered with the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) to participate in their National Gallery of Writing by having their own gallery specifically for NBCTs. NCTE’s goal is to collect a submission from every American, and NBPTS has adapted that goal to fit NBCT’s community, hoping to collect one piece of writing from all 74,000+ NBCTs.

Preparation for Instruction of Science & Math (PrISM)
Courses for preK-8 teachers are available in various online and flexible formats that meet the needs of working teachers. All courses are graduate-level and based on a common, equivalent tuition across institutions. Besides the graduate credit that you can use for renewing your teaching license or as part of a master's degree program, you will earn a program completion PrISM Certificate and will gain confidence in your ability to effectively teach mathematics and science. Fulbright Teacher Exchange Program

1) Fulbright Teacher Exchange Program

The Fulbright Teacher Exchange Program is a direct one-to-one exchange of approximately 120 teachers from primary and secondary schools. The program operates between the United States and ten countries worldwide.
2) Distinguished Fulbright Awards in Teaching Program
The Distinguished Fulbright Awards in Teaching Program, a component of the Fulbright Teacher Exchange Program, will send 12 U.S. teachers abroad and bring 12 international teachers to the U.S. for a semester to pursue individual projects, conduct research, take courses for professional development, and lead master classes or seminars for teachers and students. The program is open to teachers from Argentina, India, Israel, Finland, South Africa and the United States.
