OEA Executive Director
Location: OEA Headquarters - Portland, Oregon

Working to secure and protect the rights of every citizen to a quality system of public education, the OEA currently serves approximately 47,000 members statewide. Operating on an annual budget of more than $19 million and a staff of 100, OEA is nationally known for its strong statewide presence, possessing a history of success based on a long tradition, stable structure, and well managed resources.

The OEA’s ED partners with the President and the Executive Officers and is responsible for implementing the Board of Directors’ policies. This leader plays a key role in helping define and achieve the organization’s strategic direction. S/he is a visionary leader, manager, and contributor; highly collaborative in style; and able to publicly support the organization effectively. With broad management, financial, strategic, political, and coalition building responsibilities, the ED is looked to as a source of continuity in addition to his/her role in managing change. This role requires excellent vision, execution, management and communication skills as well as a deep commitment to the core value of public education.

The successful candidate will be an experienced leader with exceptional management credentials. Experience with staff, broad constituency groups, and financial management; direction of programmatic activities; and accountability to a Board of Directors is crucial.
