In addition to the resources listed to the right, there are outstanding benefits to being an OEA member, including:
Professional Development & Networking
Through the OEA Union School, you have a wide variety of professional development training opportunities at your fingertips. Available training topics include: licensure, classroom management, advocacy, collective bargaining, discipline issues, communications, political action, human and civil rights, classified staff (education support professional) issues, building education partnerships, and more. Want to know how other educators deal with the same issues you are facing? OEA will make those connections for you.
OEA members and staff work to represent you in contract negotiations, grievances, pro-education coalitions, the State Board of Education, and anywhere decisions are made that affect school employees, students, and public education. If you have a question about your employment rights or benefits, a local OEA UniServ Consultant assigned to your area will provide you with the guidance you need.
OEA is widely known as the single-most effective voice for public education in your local college, school district, community, and the state. FInd out more about our political efforts in our Center for Public Affairs.
