Why Should Oregonians Oppose Ballot Measure 63? Unsafe Homes.
Measure 63 would allow certain construction projects to override all state and local building and safety codes. Residential and farm property owners could build structures without any safety permits or inspections.

This loophole would override state and local safety and environmental codes.

Measure 63 would allow shoddy structures and unsupervised work with gas and water lines right next door to you. And it would endanger the lives of first responders, such as firefighters who enter buildings under dangerous circumstances.

Measure 63 would allow construction in areas currently protected by law, like our scenic rivers. Such construction could threaten not only wildlife habitats but also our own drinking water.
