OEA's Endorsement Process

OEA's endorsement process is entirely member-driven, with decisions about legislative endorsements being made by the educators who live and work in the community a candidate hopes to represent in Salem. Educators gain insight into a candidate's legislative priorities through a candidate questionnaire and through candidate interviews. Using this information, local educators make votes to endorse a candidate based on their pro-public education credentials.
