What is HB 4079?
Under Oregon's current system for funding public education, the weight applied for special education services are capped at 11%. This means students who receive special education services might not be accurately counted when district funding is calculated, meaning they are being denied the critical resources they need to thrive.
HB 4079 would lift this cap and ensure every student receiving special education services is treated equally.
